Former detective Kyle Hyde has been tracking his old partner, Brian Bradley, after he disappeared without a trace. Now working for a sales company in Los Angeles, Kyle has checked in to Hotel Dusk. He discovers that the hotel may hold answers to his partner's disappearance.
With the DS turned on its side, use the touch screen to move Kyle around the hotel, search the surroundings, and talk with the staff and patrons of Hotel Dusk.
Solve puzzles and interrogate other characters to learn the dark secrets of the hotel. At the end of each chapter, you have to complete a memory quiz of the preceding events.

The hospital that Mila stayed in is named Robbins Hospital. This is a reference to Ashley Robbins, the heroine of Cing's first DS adventure game Trace Memory.
The Captain

Rosa, the hotel's maid, mentions that her husband is a sailor. When you find a photo of him later, he turns out to be the Captain you meet at the beginning of Trace Memory.
