You are British secret agent 007, James Bond in this videogame adaptation of the 2005 motion picture. When a plan to take out a USSR chemical weapons factory goes awry, James Bond leaves agent 006, Alec Trevelyan, to die. Years later, the Cold War has ended and Bond is sent back to Russia to investigate the Janus Syndicate and the theft of the GoldenEye weapons satellite.

You take part in first-person missions with a task list that must be followed to complete the mission. Collect weapons and items to take out enemy soldiers, open locks or trigger events.

In the 4-player deathmatch, collect guns and body armor, racking up more kills than the other players within the time limit.

In the Facility stage, you have to meet a scientist double-agent named Dr. Doak. He is based on the Rare staff member David Doak.

He also appears as a secret multiplayer character under the name of "Dave".
