Channels
Wii Channels were useful utility programs for the Wii. Some came preloaded on the Wii console and others could be downloaded from the Wii Shop Channel.
Forecast Channel

A weather channel for the Wii. Users can spin a large globe and view weather reports for any part of the world. The information and icons shown change depending on the user's region.
The Forecast Channel was discontinued on 28th June 2013.

Mii Channel

A Mii creation utility for the Wii. You create Miis first by choosing the gender, height, weight and favorite color of your Mii. You can then select from a huge selection of hairstyles and facial features and change their position, size and angle.
The Miis you have created can then be used as avatars in other Wii games.

News Channel

A news aggregation service for the Wii. The news is sourced from a large variety of companies, including Associated Press and Nippon Television.
A news ticker will appear on the News Channel icon on the Wii Menu if the software is used regularly.

Photo Channel

A photo-viewing channel for the Wii. You can load photos from an SD card, create a slideshow and add several paint effects.
Photos can be turned into mosaics and puzzles, and sent to other Wiis through the Message Board.
A later update added sound and video file support to the Photo Channel.

Wii Shop Channel

An online software shopping channel for the Wii. Users can purchase and download Wii Channels, WiiWare games and Virtual Console games using Wii Points (acquired by purchasing Wii Points Cards or registering a bank card on the channel).
You can view details, ratings and more for the available games, and rate games you have purchased.

Internet Channel

An internet browser for the Wii, developed in collaboration with Opera. The browser can run Adobe Flash Player 8, Ajax, SVG, RSS and Java.
Some websites were able to take advantage of Wii-specific controls for Java applications.

Everybody Votes Channel

A Wii Channel where users can vote in daily opinion polls. The user can place their Mii on their answer and see how their results compare with other Miis. You can also vote on which answer you think will be the most popular.
Regional and worldwide polls allow you to see the results in that area, where hundreds of Miis rush in to fill the results chart.

Check Mii Out Channel

A Wii Channel that allows users to submit Miis they have created so other users can rate them. The most popular Miis are shown in the Posting Plaza, and the user can download Miis to their own Mii Parade.
You can also take part in Contests, designing Miis to fit a supplied description. Users can then vote for three Miis they think best fit the description.

A Wii Channel containing information and videos about Nintendo, third party developers and their games. A number of video series were created exclusively for the Nintendo Channel.

Televi no Tomo Channel: G-Guide for Wii

A TV guide channel for the Wii, developed in collaboration with G-Guide and using information from Guide Plus.
You can use stamps to mark shows of interest and register email addresses or mobile phone numbers to receive notifications 30 minutes before the show begins. Users can also rate the shows they have watched out of five stars.

Digicam Print Channel

Developed in collaboration with Fujifilm, the Digicam Print Channel allows users to import digital photos from an SD Card and create templates for photo books and business cards.
The templates could then be sent to Fujifilm who, for a fee, would print and deliver the completed products to the user's address.
The service ended on 28th June 2013.

Today and Tomorrow Channel

A fortune telling channel for the Wii. You could register up to six Miis, and have their fortunes read in five categories: Love, Work, Study, Communications and Money.
A Compatibility Test feature checked how connected two Miis are. The game also supplied "Lucky Words" for the player each day.

Wii Speak Channel

A channel available to users with the Wii Speak peripheral. The user can create up to four chat rooms with no limit on the number of users in each room. The people in the chat are represented by Miis.
People in the chat can send photo slideshows and audio messages to each others' Wii Message Boards.

Wii no Ma

A video-on-demand service set around a virtual living room where up to 8 Miis can be registered and interact with each other. The TV in the room takes the player to a video list containing cartoons, quizzes, cookery, education shows and other programs produced exclusively for the service.
Wii no Ma was discontinued on 30 April 2012.

Demae Channel

A food ordering service channel released exclusively in Japan in collaboration with the online delivery company Demae-can.
The channel allows users to browse through local delivery services in various categories, place their orders and have food delivered to the address registered to the user's account.

Kirby TV Channel

A limited-time TV channel, released exclusively in Europe, showing episodes of the 2003 Kirby animated series "Kirby: Right Back At Ya".
Two episodes were released each week, with only four available at a time. Regular viewers could find keys that allowed them to unlock previous episodes in the series.
