Hello there! Your friendly neighbourhood NinDB webmaster Fryguy64 here. As has been my way for 23 years, I've gone ahead and made some drastic changes to NinDB!

All the release lists, series lists and game pages have gone!

Nobody panic! The release lists will be back soon. They're ever so useful, so I wanted to make sure they're up-to-date, consistent with one another and can be viewed on a mobile phone. I didn't figure it all out in time, but I've made good progress with them.

I'm not yet sure how to handle series lists and game pages. They're a huge time sink and most of them don't even contain much in the way of useful or interesting information. I've got a few ideas, but these will take a bit more thought.

However, I didn't want to lose all the bits of fun and useful information that were on the missing pages. Which brings me to…

Game guides, cameos and features galore!

There are new sections for Game Guides and Cameos so you can see everything on the site at a glance. I have also moved Cancelled Games and Hardware and Accessories into the Features section.

There's a few more things under Features now as well. I've revived archives of long-lost NinDB features Nintendo All-Stars and 3rd Party Showcase (3PS). I have also posted my Nintendo monster art project Nintober here for the very first time.

Basically, there's loads of stuff old and new to read, and it's now much easier to find.

What's next?

I want to get the game release lists back up before the next Nintendo console is announced. While I work on that, I desperately want to write up more detailed retro game guides. I've gathered together a lot of information over the years that I haven't seen elsewhere. I want to update the cameo pages with more recent releases and new screenshots. I have much better kit for recording games than I used to.

That's all for now! Happy reading!

Kazumi Totaka's Song Guide

For many years, a strange song appeared in games as diverse as Mario Paint, Yoshi's Story and Animal Crossing. NinDB discovered the connecting thread: Nintendo music composer (and voice of Yoshi) Kazumi Totaka. Discover all the games he has hidden this song in over the years.

Famicom and Famicom Disk System

Nintendo Hardware and Accessories

Over the years, NinDB has collected information on official Nintendo hardware releases from around the world. Want to know more about the Famicom? Don't know your Nintendo 3DS from your New Nintendo 3DS?

Nintober Logo

Nintober Archive

An ongoing illustration project to create profiles for Nintendo's most gruesome and evil characters. Nintober started in 2008 and is still going (as of 2023), with over 160 grotesque and villainous beasts from everyone's favourite family-friendly publisher.

Nintendo All-Stars

Nintendo All-Stars Archive

Between 2004 and 2007, NinDB ran a series of illustrated character profiles, telling the stories of obscure or lesser-known Nintendo characters. Some of these got a little long, and all are outdated now. But they have been restored along with the original artwork. We've even dug up some long-lost artwork that was planned but never used!

3rd Party Showcase

3rd Party Showcase Archive

Between 2006 and 2008, NinDB posted a series of articles written by John "Nester" Bennett, highlighting the very best third party games available on the Wii, DS and Virtual Console. All 50 articles have now been restored and archived for your pleasure. How many did you play?
