VIXIV

During the game, a number of flashbacks take place when Samus Aran was under Adam Malkovich's command on a large battleship. When you unlock concept art for the ship at the end of the game, it is revealed that the ship's name is VIXIV.

VIXIV was the name of the Space Tank in the Japan only X (GB) and its sequel X-Scape (DS).

Or was it from the Manga?

There's more to this story. In the canonical Metroid manga from around 2002, it is revealed that Adam Malkovich captains a Federation battleship named the VIXIV IV.

So this piece of trivia predates Metroid: Other M. However, it's the first time it's appeared in a game.
