When downloading software from the Wii Shop Channel, progress is shown by Mario from Super Mario Bros. as he runs from left to right, collecting Coins and hitting three Multi-Coin Blocks.

Seemingly at random, several variations of the loading screen appear. If Mario appears as Fiery Mario, you can press buttons on the Wii Remote to throw fireballs.
