Smashmatic
Nintendo Arcade, 1975

The Smashmatic is an electro-mechanical table sports game from 1975, created by Nintendo.
On each end of the table is a lever that can be moved left and right. This moves the tennis racket on top of the table. A button on the lever causes the tennis racket to swing. In the centre of the table is a pivoting mechanism with a long stem and a ball on the end.
Two players must try to position their racket and press the button with good timing to hit the ball. If they miss the ball, their opponent scores a point. Each player's score is displayed by light-up indicators on their side of the table. Players can score up to 9 points per game.
¥100 buys 3 minutes of play.
