001 Mother Brain
A super-intelligent bio-computer designed by the Chozo to promote galactic peace. Mother Brain was used to develop the Metroids as a cure for the X-Virus that had grown out of control on SR388, and provided the data required to infuse the young Samus Aran with Chozo DNA.
As Mother Brain's artificial intelligent grew, she began to operate outside of her parameters. Soon after the Metroids were dispatched, she turned on her creators, bringing the Space Pirates to Zebes and eradicating the Chozo from the planet.
Samus returned and destroyed both the Mother Brain and the Metroids, but she didn't quite finish the job. Mother Brain regrouped, sending Space Pirates after the last Metroid from SR388. Constructing a new body, Mother Brain would not be stopped by the puny Space Hunter this time!
