Shin Onigashima Guide Chapter 9

The Final Battle

The heroes prepare to leave before Onigashima sinks into the ocean. But they are stopped by a terrible rumble. The dragon's skeleton is still alive somehow!

The dragon's skeleton attacks.

Donbe jumps on the dragon's head.

Donbe sticks the katana into the dragon's skull and holds on tight.

Donbe clings onto the katana stuck into the dragon's skull.

Hikari asks Ohana if she can fly after them. Ohana apologises that she could get close but not all the way. Hikari says that's good enough.

Hikari uses the necklace to speak to Hinoe. The deity thanks them for their hard work and agrees to use her power to help them.

Hikari flies Ohana closer to the thrashing skeleton.

Donbe leaps off the dragon's head and Ohana catches him. Hinoe calls forth a lightning storm and a bolt strikes the katana in the dragon's head. The skeleton explodes. The dragon has truly been defeated this time.

Hinoe's lightning bolt strikes the dragon.

Donbe wonders if there was any treasure on the island. Hikari says if there was any treasure, she would take it back to the Dragon Palace with her. Donbe realises that Hikari will not be returning home with him after all. Hikari thanks Donbe but it's not possible for them to stay together. She then calls him by his true name: Urashima.

The heroes ride on Ohana's back.

Ending

Onigashima crumbles into the sea.
Donbe says goodbye to Hikari, Ittai, Kintaro̅ and the Tengu.
Hikari, Ittai and Kintaro̅ return to the Dragon Palace.
Donbe waves goodbye to Ringo, Matsunosuke and Ohana.
The Old Man and Old Woman welcome Donbe home.
